ENA Ouchterlony Components

Product Name: ENA Ouchterlony Components
Description: The ENA Ouchterlony components are useful for the qualitative determination of human autoantibodies in serum to extractable nuclear antigens; Ro/SSA, La/SS-B, Sm, nRNP, Scl-70, and Jo-1.

Principle of the Assay:
An ENA Ouchterlony assay employs the basic principles of immunodiffusion by incorporating a tissue extract which contains antigens important in many autoimmune diseases. The assay has great utility as: a screening assay, a specific antibody identification assay, and a relative titering assay. The results can be read within 12-24 hours. Scl-70, Ro/SS-A, and Jo-1 antibodies may require 36-48 hours for precipitation. (1)(2)
