ENA Ouchterlony Components

Product Name:
ENA Extract
Description:
The ENA Ouchterlony components are useful for the qualitative determination of human autoantibodies in serum to extractable nuclear antigens; Ro/SSA, La/SS-B, Sm, nRNP, Scl-70, and Jo-1. Principle of the Assay: An ENA Ouchterlony assay employs the basic principles of immunodiffusion by incorporating a tissue extract which contains antigens important in many autoimmune diseases. The assay has great utility as: a screening assay, a specific antibody identification assay, and a relative titering assay. The results can be read within 12-24 hours. Scl-70, Ro/SS-A, and Jo-1 antibodies may require 36-48 hours for precipitation. (1)(2)

Physical State:
Lyophilized Powder, Buffer:0.01M Phosphate, 0.13M NaCl, 0.02% Azide
Storage:
Add 0.5 ml cold distilled water to lyophilized powder (Some assay systems may require more concentrated or more diluted extract.) Some precipitate may form but will not affect product performance. Do not store diluted antigen. Repeated thawing will result in loss of activity. After reconstituting, aliquot and store frozen at -20°C
